WhatsApp privacy policy
How Redent (redent.net) uses WhatsApp to talk to you, and how we look after your information.
Last updated 28 October 2026
Redent is an online platform for dentists in India to buy and sell pre-owned dental equipment, and to find clinics, jobs, staff, courses and events. We use the WhatsApp Business Platform (provided by Meta) to send you useful messages and to answer your questions. This page adds to our main Privacy policy, which covers everything else.
When we message you on WhatsApp
- Login codes, when you choose to sign in with your mobile number.
- Updates you have asked for: messages from buyers or sellers, offers, order steps (quote, payment, pickup, delivery, payout), and your listing being approved or needing changes.
- Replies to messages you send us, and help with your account, listings or orders.
- Occasional news about new equipment or Redent features — only if you have opted in, and never more than a few times a month.
We only send you WhatsApp messages after you have given us your mobile number and agreed to receive them (for example by ticking “Send me updates on WhatsApp” in your account, or by messaging us first).
What we collect through WhatsApp
- Your WhatsApp phone number and the profile name you use on WhatsApp.
- The messages, photos and files you send us, and basic delivery information (sent, delivered, read).
- Your choice to receive or stop WhatsApp messages, and when you made it.
We never ask for passwords, OTPs you received from your bank, card numbers or UPI PINs on WhatsApp. Redent will never ask you to pay anyone outside your Redent order.
How we use it
- To send the messages listed above and to reply to you.
- To link your WhatsApp number to your Redent account, so we can help with your listings and orders.
- To keep Redent safe: spotting spam, scams and misuse.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use your WhatsApp messages for advertising.
Who else can see it
- The Redent team members who handle support and orders.
- Meta (WhatsApp), which carries the messages under its own WhatsApp Business terms and privacy policy.
- Service providers who host our website and database, under contract and only to run Redent.
- Other users never see your WhatsApp number. Buyers and sellers talk through Redent Messages; contact details are shared only when both sides agree.
How to stop WhatsApp messages
- Reply STOP to any Redent WhatsApp message, or
- Untick “Send me updates on WhatsApp” in My account, or
- Block our number in WhatsApp.
Stopping WhatsApp messages does not close your Redent account; you will still see your alerts on the website and by email (if you keep email alerts on).
How long we keep it
We keep WhatsApp conversations for as long as your account is active and as needed to resolve orders, disputes and legal duties, then delete them. Records of your consent are kept while you receive messages and for a short time after you stop.
Your rights
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, withdraw your consent at any time, and raise a complaint. We will reply within 30 days.
